‘Innovative research needed in Drug Chemistry’

Mysuru:  A month-long training programme on ‘Drug Chemistry’ organised by JSS College of Pharmacy commenced on Tuesday at the college premises in Shivarathreeswaranagar here.

Ten participants exclusively selected from across the country from faculty working in Pharmacy, Medical and Science colleges would be extensively groomed on the subject by 30 expert trainers from academics and industry.

Inaugurating the programme, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research Registrar Dr. B. Manjunatha opined that with medical field having developed phenomenally over the years, Drug Chemistry too needs extensive research with innovative inputs. He expressed happiness over the Department of Health Research, Union Government, permitting JSS Academy to host the training programme which would be a boon for the participants to equip themselves better on the subject.

Zastra Innovations Chief Scientist Dr. Girinath G. Pillai was the chief guest. College Principal Dr. T.M. Pramod Kumar presided. Programme Convenor Dr. G.V. Pujar, Organising Secretary Dr. B.R. Prashantha Kumar and others were present.
