Install iron bollards to prevent footpath encroachment

Sir,

The Mysuru City Corporation has been kind enough to lay three feet footpath with paver tiles in many extensions. One such beneficiary is the Temple Road, Jayalakshmipuram.

It is however sad to see educated people parking their cars and scooters on these footpaths not realising that they are encroaching on the space meant for people to walk safely and comfortably.

I also find people driving their cars and two-wheelers on the paved tiles using the same as a Service Road.

I request such people through these columns to refrain from parking vehicles / driving on the footpath and allow the same for pedestrians to walk freely and safely.

I suggest that the Corporation authorities should install some concrete or iron posts (bollards) of about two feet high, as done in some footpaths in Kuvempunagar so that the vehicles cannot go through the whole length.
