Mysuru: The Department of Basic Sciences, GSSSIETW, Mysuru, had organised an Inter-Collegiate Competition-2017 recently under the auspices of Science Forum. The contest was inaugurated by chief guest Dr. D.V. Gopinath, former Director, Health Safety & Environment Group, Baba Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mysuru.
Dr. K. Anil Kumar, Technical Officer, Dept. of Spice and Flavour Science, CFTRI, who was the guest of honour, spoke on the importance of Basic Science in Engineering.
Vanaja B. Pandit, Hon. Secretary, GSSS, presided. R.K. Bharath, CEO, GSSS, Anupama B Pandit, Asst. Administrative Officer, GSSSIETW, Dr. D.S. Raju, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, NIE-IT, Dr. M. Shivakumar, HoD-Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, GSSSIETW, Dr. H.L. Pushpalatha, HoD – Physics, GSSSIETW, Dr. S. Bellappa, HoD-Chemistry, GSSSIETW, Dr. A.T. Eswara, HoD-Mathematics, GSSSIETW were present. About 200 students from various VTU affiliated Engineering Colleges participated in Paper Collage, Pick & Speak and Quiz contests.
