Inter-School College Essay Contest held

Mysuru: St. Joseph’s College for Women (SJCW), Sathagalli, Mysuru, had organised an Inter-School College Essay Competition at its premises in city recently.

Dr. Indira, formerly Professor and Chairperson, Department of Sociology and Director of International Centre, University of Mysore and presently the President of the Indian Sociological Society, inaugurated  the programme.

In her address, she spoke about women empowerment and emphasised that women are a pride to their family and society and they should never be deprived of their opportunities and privileges just because they are women.

She also added that women cannot be labelled for certain work alone but if they prefer to do it as their profession or passion they can very well do it as their choice and not out of compulsion.

Fr. Praveen, in-Charge Priest, St. Joseph’s and St. Matthias Institutions, presided over the function. Dr. R. Manu, Principal, welcomed the gathering.

Prof. C.M. Mani Mathew, CEO, St. Joseph’s Colleges, Joyce Lobo, CEO, St Joseph’s and St. Matthias Institutions, staff and students were present during  the programme.
