Interaction programme with humourist Prof. Krishnegowda begins

 ‘Prof. M. Krishnegowda Avarondige Ondu Dina-Haadu – Harate- Maatu – Manaranjane’, an interaction programme with city’s noted humourist Prof. M. Krishnegowda, who retired as the Principal of St. Philomena’s College recently, began at Chetan Garden, Golf Club Road behind Windflower Resorts and Spa, here this morning.

The day-long event is organised by Prof. M. Krishnegowda Hithaishigala Balaga.

The programme began with Sanadi and Nadaswara music presentation by Akashavani artistes, followed by other musical performances, speeches by some of the Balaga members who had closely seen the humourist.

Akashavani artiste Kiragasur Rajappa and team presented ‘Ranga Geethe’ while Karthik and team presented a Bhavageethe concert.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme, critic Prof. G. H. Nayak said although he would not take part in felicitation programmes, he attended this programme because of his affection towards Prof. M. Krishnegowda, who has won the hearts of many people through his work and deeds.

Noting that students of today will be recognised in future only by their deeds and achievements, he complimented Prof. Krishnegowda for his exemplary talent.

MLA Vasu, former KEA Chairman B.P. Manjunath, Corporator K.V. Mallesh, actor ‘Mukhyamantri’ Chandru, writer Prof. N. Boralingaiah and others were present. ‘Jalada Kannu’, a collection of Prof. Krishnegowda’s column, will be released at the valedictory programme later in the evening. Hundreds of people from Mysuru and neighbouring districts are attending the programme.
