Mysore/Mysuru: Shruthimanjari Foundation and Rotary Club of Mysore West will jointly present  International Classical Veena Duet by twin Iyer Brothers from Melbourne, Australia, on Aug. 18 at Rotary West auditorium in Saraswathipuram here at 6 pm. They will be accompanied by Vid. G.S. Ramanujam on mridanga and Vid. V.S. Ramesh on morching.

Profile: Twin Brothers Ramanatha Iyer and Gopinatha Iyer had their Veena training from  Vidu. Srimathi Rajagopalan in Chennai. Further they had rigorous veena classes from Veena Maestro R. Pichumani Iyer and Trivandrum  R. Venkataraman.

Iyer Brothers migrated to Australia in mid-80s and have been performing throughout the country for the last 37 years.  Iyer Brothers have been awarded Multicultural Award for Excellence by Victorian Government in 2010 and also awarded Order Of Australia from Australian Government for service to music. They have performed in Sydney Opera House and many more prestigious platforms. The Brothers, who regularly perform in India, have established Pichumani School of Karnatak Music in Melbourne and Wellington.
