International delegates interact with city industrialists

Mysuru: A 62-member International team from twenty backward and developing countries like Egypt, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Jordan, Tajikistan, Ethiopia, Oman, Syria, Sudan, Tanzania, Philippines, interacted with city industrialists at a seminar organised by Mysore Industries Association (MIA) at the Seminar Hall of J.K. Tyres & Industries on KRS Road in city this morning.

J.K. Tyres Vice-President Umesh K. Shenoy, who spoke after introducing the industrial scenario of Mysuru region to the delegation through a Power-Point Presentation (PPT), said that the MIA had organised 26 programmes over the past three years to discuss Industrial challenges and various other industries-related issues, in the wake of changing global Industrial scenario.

Explaining the salient features of the facilities extended by the Union Government to promote indigenous manufacturing facilities, Shenoy said that the MIA was working hard for promoting industries in its jurisdiction comprising the districts of Mysuru, Chamarajanagar and Mandya.

O.D. Satyendra, Vice-President of Automotive Axles, in his address, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come up with innovative plans for promoting indigenous manufacturing, such as ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Stating that India is rich in knowledge, heritage and culture, he said that India is fast developing as a hub for emerging technologies and innovations.

The international delegation is in Mysuru as part of its study tour organised by National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NI-MSME), Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India.

The delegation is scheduled to visit a few industries in city.

MIA Past President P. Vishwanth, MIA Gen. Secretary Suresh Kumar Jain, Karnataka State Fisheries Federation Chairman Madegowda, NI-MSME Hyderabad Consultant T. Venkateshwara Reddy, faculty member Dr. K. Vishveswara Reddy and others were present.
