Mysore/Mysuru: The Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Mysuru Centre, had organised a four-week Internship on Data Science using Python recently.
Around 21 students from different parts of the country registered for the internship that was inaugurated by Usha Rengaraju, Principal Data Scientist, Infinite-Sum modelling Inc in the presence of Prof. C.R. Nataraj, Chairman, IETE Mysuru Centre, Dr. S.R. Bhagyashree, Vice-Chairperson, IETE Mysuru, Dr. B.D. Parameshachari, Hon. Secretary, IETE Mysuru, Prof. Shashidhar Gokhale, Treasurer, IETE Mysuru.
Usha Rengaraju introduced students to Data Science and its application on Day-1 of internship. Basics of Python was handled by M. Asha, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW; Numpy, Visualisation and Basics of Statistics was handled by S.J. Sushma, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, GSSSIETW. Statistics and Probability was taken up by Dr. Yogananda, former Professor, SJCE. This was followed by extensive training on Data Science model by Shashank Dixit, Data Scientist, Applied Materials and Sharmila, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, NIE.
Students were allocated mini projects on the last day. It will be evaluated after one week. The students said that they had good learning experience during the internship.
