Intl. Bonsai Master to conduct workshop in city on Feb.18

Mysuru: Srushti Bonsai Study Circle has organised a demonstration-cum-workshop of Bonsai by International Bonsai Master Pedro Morales in city on Feb.18.

Srushti, a not-for-profit organisation, has been promoting the art of Bonsai in Mysuru over the last twenty years. The day-long event, organised jointly with Rotary Mysore, will be held at Rotary Children’s Library Association (RCLA) Hall on JLB Road.

Pedro Morales will also be talking about the Tropical Bonsai School that is proposed to be set up in South India this year, in collaboration with Srushti and Vriksha, Bonsai Study Circle of Bengaluru.

Profile: Pedro Morales is an internationally renowned Bonsai artist from Puerto Rico. His trees are recognised as great masterpieces of the tropical world. His huge nursery in Puerto Rico is considered as one of the best in international circles. Eight of his trees have been selected in the World Bonsai Contest, one of them as the second runner up, in 2005. In 2015, Pedro won the first prize on the World Shohin Photo Award in Japan.

He owns and operates his School of Tropical Bonsai in Puerto Rico; he currently holds his schools in Mexico City, Venezuela and many more places. He has setup a school in Mumbai also (2016-18).
