Mysore/Mysuru: The Second International Conference on ‘Adaptive Computational Intelligence ICACI-2020’ organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), in collaboration with Springer journal and University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy, was inaugurated at GSSSIETW premises recently.
The Conference was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Fabrice Meriaudeau, Distinguished Professor, University of Burgandy, guest of honour Dr. R. Logeswaran, Professor, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, Malaysia, Programme Chair Dr. Navakanta Bhat, Director, Centre for NanoScience and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and General Co-Chair Prof. Silvia Liberata Ullo, Engineering Department, University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy.
The inaugural function was attended by B.V. Srinivas Gupta, Vice-President, GSSS, Vanaja B. Pandit, Hon. Secretary, GSSS, O. Pratap Kumar, Joint Secretary, GSSS, R.K. Bharath, Management Committee Member and CEO GSSS, Dr. M. Shivakumar, Principal, GSSSIETW, Organizing Chair of ICACI-2020 Dr. Rajendra R. Patil, Professor and Head, Dept. of ECE and Organising Secretary Dr. S. Padmashree, Professor, Dept. of ECE. The presidential address was delivered by Vanaja B. Pandit, Hon. Secretary, GSSS.
Dr. Fabrice Meriaudeau, in his keynote speech, emphasised the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical imaging. He briefed the usage of MRI images in the detection of retinal and myocardial diseases.
Dr. R. Logeswaran gave an overview of Big Data in terms of its volume, velocity, value, variety and veracity. He briefed about the applications of Data Science in retail, manufacturing, telecommunication, healthcare services, etc.

A total of 144 research papers were received from abroad (Australia, Ethiopia, Brunei and Pakistan) and from all over India. After peer review, 72 papers were selected for presentation under four tracks — Artificial intelligence (AI) and Robotics, Computational Intelligence in IoT, Soft Computing Techniques and Data Mining. These papers will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN.
