Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Studies (DoS) in Genetics and Genomics, University of Mysore (UoM) has organised the First South Zone Conference of Indian Academy of Biomedical Sciences (IABSCON-South Zone-2022) and International Symposium on ‘Translational Research’ at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri, Mysuru, on Sept. 8 and 9.
The theme of the International Symposium is based on the important innovations in Biomedical Sciences which has great relevance to medical field in the light of human health and welfare.
Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar, Vice-Chancellor (VC), University of Mysore, will inaugurate the event tomorrow at at 12.30 pm. Karnataka Rajyotsava and Padma Shri awardee Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Director of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences, Bengaluru, will deliver the keynote address.
Prof. K.S. Rangappa, former Vice-Chancellor, UoM and KSOU, Dr. Hari S. Sharma, University Medical Centre, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi, King Georges Medical University, Lucknow and Prof. S.S. Malini, Chairperson, DoS in Genetics and Genomics, who is also the Organising Secretary, will be present.
Eminent scholars from both National and International institutes will participate and deliver lectures related to Biomedical and Translation Research at national and international level.
The valedictory function of the International Symposium will be held on Sept. 9 at 4 pm. Dr. H. Basavana Gowdappa, Principal, JSS Medical College, will be the chief guest. Dr. T. Venkatesh, St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru, Dr. R. Medha, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry and Dr. H.P. Gurushankara, Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod, will be present.
