Mysore/Mysuru: International Women’s Day-2024 celebration was organised by Women’s Cell of ATME College of Engineering (ATMECE), Mysuru, in association with AFH India, Mumbai, at ATMECE campus recently.
Dr. Purnima K. Murthy, Director & Chief Consultant, Prajna Kuteera, Mysuru, who was the chief guest, said: “Women are cultural ambassadors as they pass on art and heritage to the next generation. So, women are highly responsible and sensible in carrying out each task.”
She also mentioned about education being imparted to women since ancient history.
Jyothi Shankar, Asst. Professor, Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru, who was the guest of honour, spoke about the perspective of present generation and the impact of social media on them, which makes them ignore their responsibilities in the name of modernity.
Dr. M.S. Govinde Gowda, Dean – Academics, ATMECE, spoke on the importance of girls education. Dr. Sachidanandamurthy, Administrative Officer, ATMECE, spoke on gender equality and advocated equal right and education throughout the ages.
Dr. S.R. Bhagyashree, Chairperson of Women’s Cell & College Internal Complaints Committee (CICC), ATME, briefed about the events and activities conducted in the college, as part of Women’s Day. Dr. L. Basavaraj, In-charge Principal & Director, IQAC, delivered the presidential address. V. Madhurya, a I year student, rendered the invocation. S.L. Gagana, a II year student, welcomed the gathering. Tasbiya Taskin, a I year student, was the Master of Ceremony.
The dignitaries distributed prizes to winners of several competitions. Programme Coordinators, faculty members and students were present.
