Dr. R. Purnima, formerly, Professor of English, KSOU and presently, Director of Children’s Literary Club, Mysuru, will be presenting a paper titled “Women as Change Catalysts in the Lives of the Celebrities” at the 47th All India Sociological Conference at Meghalaya. The Conference, organised by Indian Sociological Society, New Delhi and co-sponsored by University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), will be held between Dec.20 and 22 in connection with ‘Hundred Years of Sociology in India: Exploring Trajectories for the Future.’

 Dr. Purnima will also be a Resource Person for the workshop “Literature and Society: A Quality Appraisal Through the Lens of Theatre” on Dec. 18 and 19 by the Department of English, USTM. She will be giving talks, lecture demonstration and a solo theatre performance.
