Sir,
We, the residents of Gayathripuram 1st Stage, wish to draw the attention of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and the general public to the serious problem of inadequate and irregular water supply in our locality.
Residents are receiving water for only about 1.5 to 2 hours a day and even this supply is neither regular nor provided at predictable intervals. This has made it extremely difficult for households to plan and manage their daily water requirements.
The situation has worsened in recent times due to a drop in water pressure. In some houses, residents have found garbage and other waste materials accumulated inside the water pipes, obstructing the flow. They have had to clean the affected pipes themselves to restore water pressure.
We appeal to the Vani Vilas Water Works to provide regular and sufficient water supply to the locality and maintain proper water pressure in the pipelines.
In addition, they must check the pipelines for garbage, blockages and other obstructions and take up necessary maintenance of the local water supply network. At least they must inform residents about the timings of water supply so that they can plan their daily requirements accordingly.
