Works on demolition and widening of Irwin Road that began yesterday has picked up pace this morning with new drainage laying on the stretch.

Parts of the road near the historic Jumma Masjid have been dug up to lay new pipes. Traffic on some of the stretches near the Jumma Masjid has been blocked since morning.

Once the work is undertaken in full swing, traffic will be completely blocked on the busy Irwin Road.
