City’s Dhruthi T. Venugopal taking part in the $25,000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament at Andijan, Uzbekistan entered the main draw in the women’s singles event by winning her final qualifying match yesterday.

In the final qualifying match, Dhruthi beat Uzbekistan’s Lavlo Bakhodovova 6-2, 6-4 to qualify for the singles main draw. In the first round, Dhruthi beat Sebivova M 6-0, 6-0.

In the women’s doubles pre-quarterfinals, Nigina Abduraimova & Ksenia  Lykina beat Kyra Shroff and Dhruthi T. Venugopal 6-1, 6-7 (8), 10-8.
