Jaggi Vasudev’s father passes away

Mysuru: Dr. B.V. Vasudev (95), father of renowned spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev (Founder, Isha Foundation), passed away at his residence located on second main road, V.V. Mohalla here last night, due to age-related illness.

He was admitted in a city hospital last week and was discharged a couple of days ago.

Dr. Vasudev was a doctor by profession and had retired from Government service as the Divisional Medical Officer (DMO) at Mysuru Railway Hospital over three decades ago.

Born in1924 at Bengaluru, he had settled down in Mysuru decades ago. He leaves behind four children, including two daughters — Shaswathaprana, currently serving at Sharada Peetham in Kerala and Pushpalatha Vasudev and sons Ravindra, a Pharmacist  and spiritual guru Jaggi Vasudev, the youngest and four grand children. Dr. Vasudev’s wife Susheelamma had predeceased him in the nineties.

His last rites were performed at Chirashantidhama in Gokulam this afternoon in the presence of a number of dignitaries. 

Jaggi Vasudev could not attend the last rites as he away in the USA, it is learnt.
