Jail Head Warder Uma wins two medals

Malaysian Intl. Open Masters Athletics Championship

M.S. Uma, Head Warder at K.R. Nagar Sub Jail in Mysuru district, won two medals at the 8th Malaysian International Open Masters Athletics Championship at Kuala Lumpur which concluded yesterday.

Taking part in the 200 mts walking race, Uma won a silver medal apart from a bronze in  the 200 mts race.

A native of Kollegal taluk in Chamarajanagar district, Uma is a resident of Jail Quarters near Fountain Circle in city. She joined the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services in 2008.

She was first posted in Madikeri and later served in Mysuru before being transferred to K.R. Nagar Sub Jail as Head Warder following her promotion.

Pramod Naik, her husband, is an employee of a private firm in Karwar and the couple has two children Harshith and Hansika.
