Jain Foundation Day celebrated in city

Mysuru: Bharatiya Jain Sangathan (BJS), Mysore Chapter, along with Sri Adinath Jain Sangh, Mysore, celebrated Jinshasan Sthapana Divas (Jain Foundation Day) at Adeshwar Vatika in city recently. 

BJS, Mysore Chapter Charter President Ashok Salecha, in his keynote address, spoke about the importance of Jain Foundation Day, the establishment of the Chaturvidh Sangh including Sadhu-Sadhvi, Shravak-Shravika by Tirthankar Prabhu Mahaveer. Highlighting the principles of Bhagawan Mahaveer, he gave the message that every listener should stay away from gossip and added that by including Sadhvi and Shravika in the mainstream of Jinshasan, Bhagawan Mahaveer is the first in the world to give prominence to women. 

President of Sri Adinath Jain Sangh Rameshchand Jain, while narrating the events of the beginning of Veer Reign, said that Lord Mahaveer attained Kevalgyan on Vaishakh Shukla Dashami and on Ekadashi, he established the Chaturvidhi Sangha of Sadhu, Sadhvi, Shravak and Shravika. 

“This Sangha plays an important role in organising Jainism and spreading its principles. This day is an inspiration for the followers of Jainism, encouraging them to be dedicated to the religion and follow its teachings,” he added.

Earlier, a rally was organised from Sri Adinath Jain Temple which culminated at the entrance gate of Adeshwara Vatika followed by hoisting of Jain flag by the office-bearers of both the organisations.  The Dharma Sabha commenced with Navakar Mahamantra recitation by Chief Secretary of BJS Mysore Chapter Deepak Bohra.

 President Rajan Baghmar welcomed the guests.  Immediate Past President Praveen Lunkar, Treasurer Manohar Sankhla, Vice-President Nemichand Barola, Secretaries Navaratanmal Pitliya and Sunil Patva felicitated the guests. 

Project Director and Vice-President Kushal Palrecha proposed the vote of thanks while Secretary of Sri Adinath Jain Sangh Goutham Salecha compered the programme. 

Vice-President of Sri Adinath Jain Sangh Bhojraj Jain, BJS Ladies Wing Chairperson Sharmila Dhoka, Karnataka BJS Chief Secretary Prakash Gulecha, Past President Prakash Srisrimaal, members of both the organisations were present.
