‘Janapada Jeevala’ Award presentation on Mar. 27

Mysuru: The Janapada Jeevala Ranga Prashasthi (instituted in memory of former MLA and ryot leader K.S. Puttannaiah) award presentation programme organised jointly by  Nele Hinnale, Janamana Samskruthika Sanghatane and Karnataka Nataka Academy as part of World Theatre Day celebrations will held on Mar.27 at 6 pm.

Speaking to reporters at Pathrakarthara Bhavan yesterday, Theatre Personality H. Janardhan said this award will be given to outstanding folk artistes from rural areas. The names of awardees will be announced tomorrow. This award carries a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, a citation and a memento. Theatre Personality Prof. G.K. Govindarao will be the chief guest.

Singers Pushpalatha, Chinthan Vikas, C.M. Narasimhamurthy, Devananda Varaprasad, Huragalavadi Ramaiah will render Rangageethe, Tatvapada, Raithageethe and Ashayageethe on the occasion.

Theatre personality K.R.Gopalakrishna, Farmer leader Vijaya Raje Urs, Journalist.K. Deepak and others were present during the press meet.
