‘Jashn-e-Urdu’ celebrated

Mysuru: M.E.S. First Grade College celebrated ‘Jashn-e-Urdu’ at its premises recently.  The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Masood Siraj, Professor in Urdu, University of Mysore. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed on the importance of Urdu language in the present scenario.  Prof. Kareemuddin, retired Kannada Professor, who presided, said that Urdu language is spoken and studied in more than 40 countries in the world.

Guest speaker and Urdu Poet Gowhar Tarikerwi urged the students to value the language and give importance to learn Urdu.  

More than 25 students who secured distinction in Urdu language were feted with mementos. Dr. Ateeq-ur-Rahaman, Professor in Urdu, welcomed. Razia Begum, Principal, M.E.S. First Grade College, proposed a vote of thanks.
