Jayciana Annual Cultural Festival from this evening

Mysuru:  JSS Science and Technology University (formerly SJCE), Mysuru, has always been committed to provide all kinds of opportunities for students to help them excel in their field of interest. The institution has stood for the right amalgamation of academic and extra-curricular activities.

Jayciana, the annual cultural fest, which was started in 1981, is a national-level fest that spans over three days. It gives a platform for students to showcase their talent in singing, dancing, mono acting etc.

Jayciana-2018 starts this evening (Apr. 13) at 6 with a musical performance by Vasishta Simha, popular Kannada cine actor-singer and concludes on the 15th. On all the three days of the fest, there will be singing and dance performances by not just SJCE students, but from other college students as well.

Highlights of fest  

The first day will feature a performance by Prakriti Kakar, playback singer. Her career began upon singing the title song of 2012 Bollywood film Tutiya Dil. She rose to prominence with the release of her songs in collaboration with Ankit Tiwari, “Katra Katra” from Alone and “Bheegh Loon” from Khamoshiyan.

On the second day, the fest will have an Indian DJ-Producer duo called “Lost Stories.” They are renowned for their official remixes and spectacular performances in global musical festivals like Tomorrowland and Sunburn.They stand at the #52nd position in World DJ mag and are widely acclaimed for their remix of Alan Walker’s “Faded”, OneRepublic’s “Wherever I Go” and various others.

On the final day, there will be a concert by DJ Chetas, a Bollywood DJ and music producer. He is ranked 33rd in the DJ Mag and is known for his Bollywood mashups and remixes. He has produced mashups for top Bollywood actors-producers like Salman Khan, Karan Johar and singers like Atif Aslam.

Apart from these, a cyclothon is organised on the 14th of April to create awareness about breast cancer at 6.30 am.

A marathon will be held on Apr. 15 to support Women Empowerment at 6 am.
