Jayciana Cultural Fest

Mysuru: Nearly 956 cyclists participated in the cyclothon organised by JSS Science and Technology University (formerly known as SJCE) as part of the three-day Jayciana annual cultural fest to create breast cancer awareness.

The event was flagged off at 6.30 am at the college premises and the men cycled for about 20 kms passing through Hunsur Road touching St.Joseph’s institutions and taking a left on Temple Road then taking a right near Vontikoppal Police Station to enter KRS Road and from there taking a right near Dasappa Circle to enter JLB Road. Then they wound their way right up to Chamundipuram Circle and then via Silk Factor on Manandavadi Road, passed through Mysore Courts, pedalled through Kukkarahalli Lake Road touching Bogadi Road and returned to the SJCE campus.

The girls cycled a distance of 5 kms. Madhu cycled his way to bag the title followed by Kiran with Kamal Raj placed third.                                                                

In the girls category it was Nayana who came first and Priyanka second.

Inauguration: The culture fest was inaugurated by actor-singer Vasishta Simha yesterday at the SJCE campus who also performed. His performance was followed by playback singer Prakriti Kakar.

This evening, Indian DJ-Production called ‘Lost Stories’ will be performing.

Tomorrow a marathon will be held at 6 am to support women empowerment.
