Bengaluru: Close on the heels of the BJP’s Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivartana Yatra, the JD(S) will launch its poll campaign tour from Nov.7.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, JD(S) State President H.D. Kumaraswamy said that the first leg of the pre-poll tour will be launched at Chamundeshwari Assembly segment, from where Chief Minister Siddharamaiah is planning to contest from in the 2018 Assembly polls.
During the tour, Kumaraswamy said that he will be travelling in a custom-built AC bus replete with a bedroom, toilet, bathroom, a mini kitchen, besides a small conference cubicle. Between Nov. 7 and 9, the tour will cover the districts of Mysuru, Chikkamagalur and Shivamogga. The bus has been named ‘Karnataka Vikasa Vahini’ he said.
Continuing, he said that the party has organised a farmers convention at Belagavi to coincide with the commencement of the Winter Session of the State Legislature on Nov.13. Party workers will be arriving in bikes to the venue from Raichur, Bagalkot and Vijayapura districts, he said and added that the second leg of the tour will commence from Nov.25 soon after the conclusion of the Legislative Session, covering over 50 Assembly segments in North Karnataka.
