Siddharamaiah is casteist CM: Prasad

Mysuru: Accusing Chief Minister Siddharamaiah of himself being a casteist, former Minister and senior BJP leader V. Sreenivasa Prasad said that he has no moral right to call the BJP a  communal party. Addressing a press meet at a private hotel here yesterday, Prasad explained how Siddharamaiah has been an opportunist, exposing and ditching all those who helped him to become the CM.

Prasad said that the victory of Congress candidate Kalale Keshavamurthy can be attributed to the JD(S). “The JD(S) had come second in the 2013 polls with 42,000 odd votes. In the by-polls, the Congress secured 86,000 votes while I garnered 68,000 votes out of 86,000 votes of the Congress, 42,000 belonged to the JD(S) and for that, Siddharamaiah and company spent crores of rupees,” he said.

Continuing his tirade against the CM, Prasad said that once Karnataka was home to able Dalit leaders who were inferior to none. But Siddharamaiah politically finished them off one by one. After the Nanjangud by-election, Siddharamaiah has become a ‘Brahmarakshasa’ engulfing the entire Congress and the Government, he added.

Accusing Congress Parliamentary leader in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, of being an opportunist, Prasad said that Social Welfare Minister H. Anjaneya is enslaved to Siddharamaiah as he is very grateful to him for making him a Minister. He further said that PWD Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa’s background is known to all in Mysuru region.

Replying to a question, Prasad said that he would not contest elections anymore. Even during the 2013 Assembly election, he had declared that it would be his last electoral battle, he said and added that he resigned and sought re-election only because his self-respect was hurt by the behaviour of CM Siddharamaiah.
