Bengaluru: After a prolonged delay, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday appointed eight JD(S) MLAs and a party leader to various Boards and Corporations. The CM also appointed four Legislators as Parliamentary Secretaries and a former MLA as his Political Secretary.

Though his coalition partner, the Congress, had made these appointments two months ago, Kumaraswamy had chosen to wait for some time.

Following is the list of appointees

Naganagouda Kandakur (Gurumitkal) – Chairman, Karnataka Slum Development Board; Rajavenkatappa Naik (Manvi) – Chairman, Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC); D.C. Gourishankar (Tumakuru Rural) – Chairman, Mysore Sales International Limited (MSIL); B. Sathyanarayana (Sira) – Chairman, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC); L.N. Nisarga Narayanaswamy (Devanahalli) – Chairman, Bangalore International Airport Authority; Dr. K. Annadani (Malavalli) – Chairman, Devaraja Urs Backward Classes Development Corporation; K.M. Shivalingegowda (Arasikere) – Chairman, Karnataka Housing Board (KHB); K. Mahadev (Periyapatna) – Chairman, Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC).

JD(S) National General Secretary Mohammad Zafrulla Khan has been appointed as the Chairman of Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation.

Political Secretaries

Former JD(S) MLA N.H. Kona Reddy has been appointed as second Political Secretary to the Chief Minister. Earlier, Congress MLA V. Munniyappa was also appointed to the said post.

The CM also cleared appointment of four Party Legislators as Parliamentary Secretaries.

Nagathana MLA Devanand Chavan has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to Primary and Secondary Education Minister, which portfolio is currently held by the CM himself after BSP MLA N. Mahesh resigned as Minister in October last.

Nelamangala MLA K. Srinivas Murthy has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Venkatrao Nadagouda.

Mandya MLA M. Srinivas will assist Co-operation Minister Bandeppa Kashempur while newly-nominated MLC K. Thippeswamy has been appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to PWD Minister H.D. Revanna.

While making the appointments, the CM has also accommodated two Congress MLAs — T. Venkataramanaiah (Doddaballapur) and Bheema Naik (Hagaribommanahalli). While Venkataramanaiah has been appointed as Chairman of Forest Industries Development Corporation, Naik has been made the Chairman of Karnataka Tanda Development Corporation.
