JD(S) stages protest against power tariff hike

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly opposing the power tariff hike, the JD(S) staged a demonstration in front of CESC office located at Matrumandali Circle in Vontikoppal here yesterday.

Maintaining that the steep power tariff hike has come at a time when people are already suffering from soaring inflation and rising prices of essential commodities, the protestors urged the Government to roll back the hiked tariff and thus come to the rescue of consumers. Contending that the unscientific power bills has shocked the people, they wanted the Government to bring down the tariff and thus provide some relief to the common man, who is hit hard by rising prices. Asserting that the bill issue has created a lot of confusion among the public, the protestors claimed that the subsidy given to solar installations, has also been cancelled. They demanded restoration of subsidy.

Later the JD(S) workers presented a memorandum to CESC authorities seeking roll back of power tariff hike.
