Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational Golf Tournament 2019: Chandigarh’s Ajeetesh Sandhu triumphs

Chandigarh’s Ajeetesh Sandhu pipped Delhi’s Rashid Khan in a photo-finish, much to the delight of the home crowd on the final day of the Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational Golf Tournament 2019, presented by Take Solutions, which concluded here on Sunday.

Ajeetesh Sandhu (66+69+ 67+66) and Rashid Khan (71+ 64+67+66), joint leaders after round three, headed for a play-off after ending up with identical total of 20-under-268.

Ajeetesh triumphed in a marathon play-off which lasted for four extra holes, and won the title and cash prize of Rs.24,24,750.

Rashid Khan secured the second place. Karandeep Kochhar of Chandigarh took the third place at 17-under-271. Kolkata’s Divyanshu Bajaj finished fourth at 13-under-275 and Chandigarh’s duo of Aadil Bedi and Akshay Sharma took joint fifth position at 12-under-276.

Mysuru boy fares well: Mysuru lad M.S. Yashas Chandra of JWGC fared well and with a four-day aggregate score of 1-over-279 secured the 39th place and took home a cash prize of Rs.1,08,750.
