Madikeri: Jharkhand Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, accompanied by his wife, visited the Harangi reservoir in Kodagu yesterday along with State officials.
The Minister reviewed details related to the reservoir’s construction and water storage capacity before visiting the Dubare elephant camp. Kushalnagar Tahsildar Kiran G. Gowraiah and Harangi Junior Engineer Soumya were present during the visit.
Jharkhand CM to leave Kodagu today: Meanwhile, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family, who had planned to visit the pilgrimage centres of Bhagamandala and Talacauvery, cancelled the trip at the last moment due to unforeseen reasons.
Police had made security arrangements in anticipation of their visit. Instead, the CM and his family stayed at the Leela Palace resort in Kodagu.
On Tuesday, Hemant Soren and his family also visited the Namdroling Monastery in Bylakuppe and viewed the Buddhist stupa.
Hemant Soren, his family, Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore and others are scheduled to return to Jharkhand today. Sources said they are likely to travel by road to Bengaluru around noon and board a flight to Ranchi from Kempegowda International Airport.
There were also reports that the delegation might depart from Mysore Airport by a special flight. However, officials maintained secrecy over the final travel arrangements.
