Mysuru: JK Tyre & Industries Ltd., which adopted villages located in Bilikere hobli of Hunsur taluk — Mydhanahalli, Buchahalli, Mudalakoppalu, Halebeedu & Devarahalli — around two years ago under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), has given a new lease of life to these village by developing them in the fields of education, sanitation, livelihood and water conservation.
Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman & Managing Director of JK Tyre accompanied by Arun K. Bajoria (Director & President —International Operations) and U.K. Shenoy (VP-Works,Mysuru) visited these villages recently and reviewed the progress of the projects and also interacted with the beneficiaries.
At first, they visited Govt. Primary School at Mydanahalli village where the infrastructure has been developed. Later, water conservation project at Mydanahalli where the desilting of a dry water pond was taken up and the capacity of storage was increased to 5,861.4 Cu.Mtr. They also visited the tree plantation area where the farmers are being helped to grow 5,000 mango trees.
Later, Dr. Raghupathi Singhania was felicitated at function jointly organised by Halebeedu and Husainpura Gram Phanchayats. ZP CEO P. Shivashankar, Assistant Secretary Manoj Kumar, Hunsur Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Krishna Kumar, PDO Manjula and others were present.
