Mysuru: Chinmaya Mission, Mysuru, has organised a week-long ‘Jnana Yajna’ on ‘Gita Saara’ (42 verses from Srimad Bhagavad Gita selected by Sri Ramana Maharshi himself) by Swami Brahmanandaji, from June 3 to 9 from 6.30 to 8 pm at Nityothsava Convention Hall in Krishnamurthypuram here.
Chinmaya Mission is a well-known international spiritual organisation with a focus on spreading the messages in the scriptures to the general public.
Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji dedicated his entire life to spread the knowledge present in Bhagavad Gita and the Upanishads to the common man. To achieve Gurudev’s goal, the Mission organises several activities throughout the year.
Swami Brahmanandaji is a direct disciple of Gurudev and is also the regional head of the Mission in Karnataka. He travels across our country to conduct discourses. He has authored books and produced several CD’s and also translated several books of Gurudev into Kannada for benefit of Kannadigas. His style of delivery is simple and laced with humour. The Bhajans he sings and the ‘mukthakas’ he quotes from DVG’s ‘Mankutimmmana Kagga’ during his discourse, make a special impact on the listeners.
Beginning from June 4, everyday from 6 to 6.30 pm there will be mass chanting of Sri Vishnusahasranama stotram. This is an opportunity for the seekers of Mysuru to enjoy this spiritual treat organised in the ‘Adhika Maasa’ of lunar calendar and get more benefits as it is said “Adhikasya Adhikam Phalam” — meaning, the good deeds performed in “Adhika Maasa” yield more intense results in multiples.
