Jodi Karaga Jatra Mahotsava

The 94th Jodi Karaga Jatra Mahotsava at Ashokapuram in the city will take place at 6 pm today (Mar. 18). The Jodi Karaga arrangement will be done near the Peepal tree at Kanakagiri Circle in Vidyaranyapuram at 6 pm, following which the procession will commence at 7 pm. The procession, accompanied by folk troupes, will pass through Andani Circle, Silk Factory Circle, Mari Dandamma Temple and Hottappa Road before reaching Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Colony in Ashokapuram. The Karaga will be carried by Priests Rangaswamy, S. Ganesh, Shankar, Taanu, Naanu, S. Nagesh, Kantharaju and Vela. The festival will be celebrated in the locality on Mar. 19, during which a procession will be taken out in the streets of the locality, according to a press release.
