Journalists Sports Meet concludes

The 2-day annual Sports Meet for Journalists of the district, organised under the aegis of Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) at University Sports Pavilion, concluded yesterday.

City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh, who spoke after distributing prizes to the winners at the valedictory yesterday, said that Journalists find little time for their families amidst their busy work.

Pointing out that Journalists work round the clock, he said that the Sports Meet comes as a refresher to scribes to relieve themselves of the pressures of work. He called upon the children of Journalists to study well and meet the aspirations of their parents.

Mysuru Hotel Owners Association President C. Narayanagowda said that good bond exists between MDJA and Hotel Owners Association.

Maintaining that the two Associations are working with mutual co-operation, he said that it is happy to note that the Sports Meet has provided an opportunity for families of Journalists to come together and share their joy.

Kautilya Educational Institutions President T. Balu, MDJA President S.T. Ravikumar (RK), General Secretary M. Subramanya,  Karnataka State Hotel Owners Association Vice-President Ravi Shastri, Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty, Lion A.C. Ravi and others were present during the prize distribution ceremony.

The first day of the Sports Meet on Saturday saw Cricket Tournament, while the second day yesterday featured other sporting events such as Shuttle Badminton, Running Race, Shot-Put, Gunny Bag Race, Lemon & Spoon Race, Musical Chair etc..
