Joy drive serial accidents: Injured Journalism student dies at hospital

Mysuru:  A girl student, who had suffered serious injuries after a Scorpio vehicle, driven by a minor boy rammed into her near the  MUDA Circle junction yesterday morning and admitted to a private hospital, succumbed to injuries at the hospital yesterday afternoon.

The deceased girl student is H.S. Ashwini, daughter of Shivaiah, a resident of Hullepura village in Gundlupet taluk and a second year journalism degree student at Maharani’s College in city.

Ashwini, who was staying at the hostel run by the Social Welfare Department on Bogadi Road, alighted the City Bus at Ramaswamy Circle and was walking towards the college along with her friend, identified as Prema, when the Scorpio vehicle, driven by the minor boy rammed into them.

Ashwini, who suffered serious injuries was rushed to a private hospital, where she succumbed to injuries at about  3 pm yesterday.

As the news of Ashwini’s death reached the college, her relatives, friends, classmates and lecturers rushed to the hospital and mourned over the untimely demise of Ashwini.
