Mysore/Mysuru: The eleventh Convocation of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) will be held in the premises of Suttur Mutt located at the foot of Chamundi Hill here on Nov. 11 at 11 am.
Addressing a press meet at JSS Pharmacy College, Bannimantap this morning, JSS AHER Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr. Surinder Singh stated that Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar will deliver the Convocation address and give away awards and medals.
Suttur Seer and JSS AHER Chancellor Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion. JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath and JSS AHER Pro-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh will be present on the occasion.
A total of 1,436 students will be conferred with their degrees at the Convocation, at Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral levels in the Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Management Studies, Life Sciences and Biomedical Sciences.
In all, 52 candidates, who share 72 medals and awards have been identified for their academic excellence, 46 candidates will be awarded Ph.D research degrees and five candidates will receive the Medical Super-speciality degree (DM and M.Ch.).
Among the gold medallists, Preeti Prakash Prabhu has bagged the highest number of gold medals.
Due to the pandemic, only 100 participants comprising of Ph.D and Medical Super-speciality degree awardees and Gold medal winners will be participating in-person at the venue of the Convocation.
The Convocation ceremony will also be livestreamed on JSS AHER YouTube Channel [https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJnRq334duQGXu9 XTlsK_ng], which will also be screened at JSS Pharmacy College, Bannimantap and few other JSS institutions.
JSS AHER Registrar Dr. B. Manjunatha, Controller of Examinations Dr. R. Sudeendra Bhat and Director (Academics) Dr. P.A. Kushalappa were present during the press meet.
