Mysore/Mysuru: A 10-day Online Entrepreneurship Development programme was organised by SPARKLE CINE, the innovation and entrepreneurship arm of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), sponsored by Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka, in association with Technical Consultancy Services of Karnataka (TECSOK) and Department of Health System Management Studies of JSS AHER.
The programme which began on Aug. 1 was formally inaugurated with the online presence of D.K. Lingaraju, Joint Director of District Industries Centre (DIC), Jagadeesh, Additional Director, Department of Industries and Commerce and CEO of TECSOK, Bengaluru, Dr. B. Suresh, Pro-Chancellor of JSS AHER, Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor of JSS AHER, Dr. (Col.) M. Dayananda, Director of JSS Hospital, Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar and Dr. P.A. Kushalappa, Director (Academics), JSS AHER.
This unique event utilised the online teaching-learning platform to develop and support the entrepreneurial aptitude and efforts of the students studying MBA. This is one of the first initiatives from the Department of Industries and Commerce to reach out to interested candidates who aspire to pursue entrepreneurship through an online model.
In all, 45 participants took part in the event. The innovative approach of online group activity and peer interaction for mentored as well as self-motivated learning was adopted. The programme had resource persons with industry, academic as well as entrepreneurial backgrounds, from various parts of Karnataka addressing the participants.
It motivated the participants to develop entrepreneurial abilities and to prepare them to explore the opportunities for successful business endeavors. It aimed to provide focused training with case studies as examples to develop a critical market analytical skill that opens new arenas for business efforts.
The programme concluded on Aug.10 with V.S. Honnamane, Additional Director, Department of Industries and Commerce, interacting with the participants along with Jagadeesh, Additional Director, Department of Industries who enumerated on the various schemes of Government of Karnataka that is available for support of business ventures.
Honnamane appreciated the collaborative efforts of the organising team in imparting knowledge safely during the challenging times of COVID and applauded the efforts of the officers from the Department of Industries and Commerce.
Ruby Silvia from TECSOK, Dr. H.K. Mamatha, Coordinator from the Department of Health System Management Studies and Dr.S. Prashanth, Assistant Director (Academics) of JSS AHER, jointly coordinated the programme.
