Mysuru: The 1st State-level Yogasana Championship-2026, organised by the Department of Yoga of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), was held at Sri Rajendra Auditorium of JSS Medical College in city recently.
The event featured the prestigious ‘Champion of Champions’ recognition and the titles ‘Mysuru – Yogasana Shri’ and ‘Yogasana Siri.’
JSS Medical College Principal Dr. D. Narayanappa was the chief guest. Government Nature Cure & Yoga Medical College & Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. D.S. Bharathish, JSS AHER Deputy Dean (Research) Dr. S Chandan, Yoga Department Associate Professor & Coordinator Dr. M.U. Sujan, Assistant Professor V.M. Jahnavi and Mysore Yoga Okkuta Working President K.G. Devaraju were the guests of honour.
The event provided a platform to demonstrate skill, balance, flexibility, strength, concentration and dedication to the yogic tradition. The valedictory ceremony marked the culmination of the championship. Awards and certificates were distributed to all participants and to all 52 winners across various categories.
H.M. Thanush was awarded the ‘Yogasana Shri’ title in the men’s category, while Vedika Manya Shivam bagged the ‘Yogasana Siri’ title in the women’s category, along with cash prizes and trophies, in recognition of their outstanding performance and excellence in yogasana.
