JSS Medical College Graduation Day held

Degrees conferred on 188 students

Mysuru: State Tourism and Sericulture Minister S.R. Mahesh said that he would make an earnest effort to solve the problems plaguing the medical and health sectors by appealing Chief Minister. H.D. Kumaraswamy.

Speaking at the Graduation Day celebrations of JSS Medical, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER) at Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS Medical College in city on Thursday, he said that he could not study medicine which is not easy for all, but his ambition was fulfilled by his son by becoming a doctor.

Stating that his son studied in JSS College, he said he was happy on his son receiving the degree along with hundreds of students on the same day.

Regretting that medical professionals are not getting decent salary nowadays and that even PG medicos are also hesitating to work in rural areas, he said such issues will be discussed with the CM to find a lasting solution. He lauded JSS Medical College for creating best learning atmosphere for students.

Addressing the gathering after distributing  medals and awards, Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon and Director of Narayana Institute of Neurosciences, Bengaluru, Dr. Thimmappa Hegde advised the outgoing students to take good care of patients.

Highlighting that medical profession is service-oriented, he advised students to shun arrogance, to develop qualities of love, empathy and motivation that is very much needed to emerge as successful medical professionals.  Medical students should not be only after money but they must always enhance their knowledge and skills, he said.

Degrees conferred   

Degrees were conferred on 188 students. The Awardees are: Dr. Sandeep Ganga from Bidar – 5 Gold Medals and 11 Cash Prizes; Dr.Kondaveti Prudhvi from Andhra Pradesh – 2 Gold Medals; Dr. M.R. Adarsh Gowda from Mysuru – 1 Gold and 1 Cash Prize; Dr. Rewati Sharma from Haryana – 1 Gold; Dr V.K. Pramatha from Chikmagalur – 1 Cash Prize; Dr. B.V. Abhishek from Mandya – 1 Cash Prize.

Dr. D. Srinivasa Murthy, Professor, Department of Paediatrics, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, awarded for Best Research Paper. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji graced the occasion. JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, JSSAHER  Vice-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, Registrar B. Manjunath, Principal Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa and others were present.
