Mysore/Mysuru: Ten students received Gold Medals at the JSS College of Pharmacy Graduation Day held in the college premises in Shivarathreeshwaranagar here recently.
Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Ahmedabad, Director Dr. Shailendra Saraf said that Pharmacists should work for the health and well-being of citizens.
Stressing on the need for Pharmacists to maintain professionalism and ethics, he lauded the activities of JSS AHER (JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research) in maintaining quality in Pharmacy education and research and in bringing about social effects.
He wished the JSS Pharmacy College on completion of 50 years. On the occasion, Pharmacy teachers were honoured in recognition of their service. Pharmacology Department Associate Professor Dr. K.L. Krishna, Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department Associate Professors Dr. R.S. Chandan and Dr. Vikas Jain were awarded ‘Best Teaching Faculty’ prize while Dr. H. Yogesh Kumar of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry got ‘Young Teacher’ prize.
Controller of Examinations Dr. R. Surendra Bhat administered the oath to the new Graduates.
The 10 Gold Medal winners are: Shilpa Purohit, Divya Jimmi (both Pharm.D), Anju James (B.Pharma), Tanvi Bhat (M.Pharm), V.Nikita (Pharmaceutical Regulation), Karen D’Souza (Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Sakshi Vivek (Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance), Shalini P. Nair (Pharmacology), Bhagyashree Behera (Pharmaceutical Analysis) and Sankeshwari Sushmita Ajay (Industrial Pharmacy).
JSS Mahavidyapeetha Executive Secretary Dr. C.G. Betsurmath presided. JSS AHER Pro-Chancellor Dr. B. Suresh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Surinder Singh and others were present.
