Mysore/Mysuru: ‘JSS Rangotsava,’ a three-day theatre festival organised by JSS Kalamantapa of JSS Mahavidyapeetha in city, will take place at JSS Women’s College in Saraswathipuram from Nov. 22 to 24.
Actor Karthik Mahesh will inaugurate the theatre est at 10 am on Nov. 22 in the presence of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji. Kannada and Culture Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy will preside.
On the first day (Nov. 22), ‘Ogatina Rani’, a play scripted by K. Ramaiah, will be enacted by students of JSS Public School, Siddarthanagar.
On Nov. 23, students of JSS High School at Baragi in Gundlupet taluk, will perform the play ‘Halagaliya Bedaru’, written by Kyathanahalli Ramanna.
On Nov. 24, students of JSS Women’s College, Saraswathipuram will enact the play ‘Chamacheluve’ written by Dr. Sujatha Akki.
The valedictory will take place at 11 am on Nov. 24. Writer Dr. Latha Rajashekar will preside and Dr. Sujatha Akki will deliver the valedictory address.
All the plays will be staged at 11 am and 2.30 pm for School and College students. Play ‘Chamacheluve’ will be enacted at 6.30 pm following the valedictory on Nov. 24 for general public.
