JSS STU Vice-Chancellor honoured at ISTE National Convention

Mysuru: Dr. Vilas V. Karjinni, Vice-Chancellor of JSS Science and Technology University (JSS STU), Mysuru, was honoured at the 50th Annual Convention Award function of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) held at Mumbai recently. 

Dr. Vilas was awarded for his contribution to Technical Education Research, Institution Capacity Building and socially relevant development activity and Industry-Institute collaborations.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray handed over the award to Dr. Vilas  along with Minister of Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, Minister of State for Home and Information Technology  Satej Patil and President of ISTE  Dr. Pratapsinh Desai.

ISTE, which is the National Professional non-profit making Society for Technical Education System, has more than 1,28,500 technical teachers as active members, 5,35,000 student members, more than 2,740 institutional members (including IITs, IISc., NITs and other leading technical institutions), 1,414 faculty chapters and 1,505 students chapters at National-level and 19 Sections at State-level.
