Bengaluru: Former Karnataka High Court Judge Justice B.S. Patil will take charge as the new Upa Lokayukta here this evening.

The office of the Upa Lokayukta was lying vacant for more than  a year after the tenure of Justice Subash B. Adi. Now with Justice (Rtd.,) B.S. Patil’s  appointment, hundreds of pending cases will be expected to reach a logical end. The appointment came after the Chief Minister held discussions with the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, Legislative Council Chairman, Assembly Speaker and the Opposition leader, it is learnt.
