JWGC to host 7th leg of Hero Women’s PGT from tomorrow

Event to feature city’s Vidhatri Urs; Pranavi Urs misses out owing to Ladies European Tour

Mysuru: Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC) will be hosting the 7th leg Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour (PGT) – 2026 from June 11 to 13 in city.

Addressing the mediapersons at JWGC premises, here yesterday, JWGC President H.S. Arun Kumar said that following the success of 2024 and 2025 events, JWGC would be hosting the 7th leg of this year’s tour.

The tournament will be teed-off by Regional Commissioner Nitish Patil at 7.30 am tomorrow at JWGC golf course.

With a field of 51 players including 11 amateurs, the participating players are drawn from across major cities of India. The prize money is Rs.17 lakh.

JWGC today boasts an impressive 18-Hole Championship Golf Course (Par 70) spread across approximately 131 acres amidst a unique natural setting, said Arun Kumar.

The 7th leg of the tournament will feature city’s Vidhatri Urs, who is currently placed 16th in the Order of Merit of the tournament. Ridhima Dilawari is currently placed at the top. The tournament will also feature other women golfers such as Jasmine Shekar (currently 2nd) Amandeep Drall (currently 3rd), Shweta Mansingh, Esther Lobo, Vani Kapoor, Ketaki Sood and Mannat Brar among others.

Pranavi Urs misses out

Meanwhile, city’s golfer Pranavi Urs, who has been selected for Indian women’s golf team for the upcoming Asian Games – 2026 to be held in Japan, will be not be taking part in the Hero Women’s PGT in city.

Pranavi Urs will be playing tournaments in Netherlands, England and Belgium among countries as part of  Ladies European Tour (LET) in preparations to the Asian Games.
