K.B. Changappa appointed as Member of Human Rights Commission

Mysuru: B. Kokkengada Changappa, who recently retired as a Principal District and Sessions Judge of Bengaluru, has now been appointed as a Member of the Human Rights Commission by the State’s Governor Vajubhai R. Vala. Changappa, who had been selected as a District and Sessions Judge by the Karnataka High Court in 2002, had served in Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Udupi, Kalaburagi, Hassan and Tumakuru districts as Additional District and Sessions Judge, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Registrar of High Court and Principal Law Secretary to Government.

The reconstituted three-Member Human Rights Commission has retired HC Chief Justice D.H. Waghela as its Chairperson besides K.B. Changappa and R.K. Datta, a retired Senior Police Officer, as members.
