K. Doreswamy (84), retired Executive Director of Indian Oil Corporation and a native of Mysuru, passed away this morning at Mumbai following brief illness.
Doreswamy’s wife had passed away 10 years ago and he leaves behind a host of relatives and friends.
Doreswamy was a student of Sarada Vilas College and the National Institute of Engineering in city. His father late K.V. Krishna Shastry was a Professor of Statistics at Maharaja’s College.
Doreswamy was in news in 1991, when he was kidnapped and held hostage by terrorists in Kashmir for nearly two months, according to relatives.
Last rites will be performed at Mumbai.
