K.R. Dayananda (59), a Livestock Development Officer, who was serving at the Government Goshala in the outskirts of the town and a resident of Mekeri near Madikeri, passed away after suffering a heart attack while on duty yesterday.
He leaves behind his wife, one son and a host of relatives and friends.
Dayananda, who was serving at Madikeri Taluk Veterinary Hospital, was proceeding to the Goshala in K. Nidugane Gram Panchayat limits when he suffered a heart attack and breathed his last.
Last rites were held at Mekeri today, according to family sources.
