Mysuru: The Karnataka-State Eligibility Test (K-SET) for appointment as Assistant Professors in Degree Colleges of the State, conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), was held today at 41 exam centres across the city.
K-SET was held for 33 subjects, with 1.36 lakh candidates from across the State registering for the same. The exam was held at 11 places in the State (Mysuru, Bengaluru, Ballari, Belagavi, Davangere, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Tumakuru and Vijayapura), with as many as 18,674 candidates opting for Mysuru centre. However, 17,038 candidates appeared for the exam in Mysuru centres, while 1,636 were absent.
The exam was of 3-hour duration (10 am to 1 pm), with 2 question papers. Paper-1 was General Knowledge paper carrying 100 marks and Paper-2 was on the subject chosen, carrying 200 marks. The candidates were provided 2 separate OMR sheets and they were required to answer questions only in the assigned OMR sheet.
The candidates were asked to follow the specified dress code and were required to undergo face recognition screening before being allowed entry to the Exam Hall. The Police had made security arrangements around all the exam centres.
Additional DC Dr. P. Shivaraju visited some of the exam centres in the city and supervised the conduct of K-SET.
