Kadamba Ranga Deevatige: State-level Theatre Fest from tomorrow

Mysuru:  Kadamba Ranga Deevatige-2018, a State-level Theatre Festival has been organised at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises here from Feb.22 to 25, under the joint aegis of Kadamba Ranga Vedike, Mysuru and the Department of Kannada and Culture, Bengaluru.

Harmonium player and singer Paramashivam will inaugurate the four-day Theatre Festival at 6 pm tomorrow. Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam and Kannada & Culture Asst. Director H. Channappa will be the guests.

Rajyotsava awardee Y.M. Puttannaiah, Nataka Academy Award recipients Mandya Ramesh and S.S. Gayathri will  be felicitated on the occasion. Cultural programmes in the evening include theatre songs and presentation of scenes from the play ‘Satya Harischandra’ at 6.30 pm.

As part of the Festival, following plays will be staged at Kalamandira at 7 pm: Feb.23 – ‘Dootaparva’ by Janadani, Mandya; Feb.24 – ‘Sarga’ by Side Wing, Bengaluru; and Feb.25 – ‘Galiyemba Kudureyanneri’ by Kadamba Ranga Vedike, Mysuru.
