‘Kadhalisri’ award conferred on Advocate M.N. Sumana

Mysuru – Kadhali Mahila Vedike, Mysuru in association with Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat had organised a function at Rajendra Bhavan in JSS Hospital premises here on Friday, to mark the 17th anniversary of the Vedike and also presentation of ‘Kadhalisri’ award to Advocate and Social Activist M.N. Sumana.

Speaking on the occasion Sumana opined that women should carry on the movement seeking equal status for women in all sectors which in fact had been initiated way back in the 12th century by Akkamahadevi. She pointed out the service rendered by women in family was invaluable.

A book on Modern woman    History and present status, written by Dr. Kavitha Rai, Chairperson, Kannada Study and Research Centre, KSOU was released on the occasion. JSS Publication Division Director Morabada Mallikarjuna spoke on the book.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarthri Deshikendra Swamiji is seen conferring Kadhalisri award on M.N. Sumana at a function organised by Kadhali Mahila Vedike in city on Friday, as other dignitaries look on.

Tributes were paid to Dr. C.N. Mruthyunjayappa and Sharana Sahitya Parishat Member G.T. Basavarajappa who passed away recently.

Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji and Sri Siddeshwara Swamiji graced the occasion. Former MLC Thontadarya, Vedike President Kalyani Natarajappa, Parishat members, Dr. Kavitha Rai and others were present. Women members of Various organisations  rendered Vachanas.
