Artist P.S. Hiremath has been selected for Kala Guru D.V. Halabhavi Award being presented every year by JSS Mahavidyapeetha in association with Bellada Shikshana Mattu Krushi Pratishtana, Dharwad.The award carries a cash prize, a citation and a memento. Hiremath, who served as art teacher for three decades at Sri Vijaya Mahantesh Lalithakala Mahavidyalaya, Hubballi, later served as Principal. A frontrunner in building ‘Kalamandira’ at Hubballi, he is also the Founder-President of Rajya Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya Sibbandhi Sangha.
